So Friday morning when I woke up early, something I unfortunately seem to have inherited from my father who also was an early rising, when I went to my home/office and looked at my computer keyboard I found a gnome hat, made by my wonderful wife Ellen.
So naturally the first thing I did was take a selfie.
Evidently causing general hilarity amongst my two daughters. We eventually had our revenge however since Ellen, in fact had made four gnome hats and as a precursor to our pre-Kol Nidre dinner we took a family picture:
We will leave it to others to decide if this added to, subtracted from, or ultimately was immaterial to our list of sins we needed forgiveness for.
Of course after Yom Kippur we were able to get home to watch the last eight innings of an 18-inning playoff loss to San Francisco. The first tickets we can actually use for the playoffs this year is for the fifth game, third home game. Here is hoping we get to make use of them.
BTW, for anyone outside of Washington who is reading this (does anyone actually read these things?), this all is derived from the Jayson Werth garden gnome giveaway which we got in line outside the stadium hours (and hours) before the gates opened to make sure we got.
